Growth forgives a lot, but it never forgives a slow, insecure or uneditable website. These are the four foundations we insist on before any client scales traffic to their site.
1. Speed as a feature
Every second of load time costs conversions — and patience is thinnest on mobile. We budget performance like money: optimised images, minimal scripts, and hosting matched to the audience. If a page cannot hit green Core Web Vitals on a mid-range phone, it does not ship.
2. Security without drama
HTTPS everywhere, patched dependencies, least-privilege access and automated backups. None of this is exciting, which is exactly the point — good security is the kind you never hear about.
“Your website should survive success: a traffic spike, a viral post, a holiday rush — without anyone touching a server.”
3. Accessibility from the start
Semantic markup, real focus states, sufficient contrast and keyboard-tested flows. Accessible sites rank better, convert better and keep you clear of legal risk — and they are simply better products for everyone.
4. Editing freedom
A site your team cannot update is a site that slowly lies to customers. Insist on a CMS your non-technical staff can use after one training session — with guardrails so they cannot accidentally break the design.
- Green Core Web Vitals on real devices, not just lab tests
- Automated backups and a documented restore path
- CMS training recorded against your exact setup
